Getting to know you...

OK-- just my sister and me. Here's a quiz Kimmy sent me. You can tell by her answers who the real liberal (and real writer) is in the family. Apparently we were raised to have strong feelings about pets, kids and morel mushrooms (as well as average-sized feet).

Answers from Lisa D.

1. What time did you get up this morning? 6:30 am – when the baby woke up.

I'd like to tweak this at some point, but until then, here are the questions I
received:

1. What time did you get up this morning? 7:30 am

2. Diamonds or pearls? Pearls.
New diamonds are overly-abundant bloodstones falsely escalated in price, borne out
of the earth on the backs of virtually-enslaved men for prissy western girls to
enhance their self-esteem between bulimic episodes.

I already eat (and keep down) the oysters, so I feel less bad about stealing their bounty. (Also, no offense to any prissy barfers or any rock-wearing heirloomers reading this...Ooooh, shiny!)

3. What was the last film you saw at the Theater? "Hitch" watch the trailer and you will see all the funny parts. Sin City was eye-opening though! Just amazing to SEE.

4. What are your favorite TV shows? Arrested Development, SouthPark and..uh...Desperate Housewives (I don't know how it happened).

5. What did you have for breakfast? An organic fruit smoothie specially prepared by my honey.

6. What is your middle name? Gail.

7. What is your favorite food? Hearty Pasta in Gorgonzola White sauce and White Castles and Chocolate-Covered Strawberries. (Okay, I'll stop.)

8. What foods do you dislike? Smoked Salmon and cooked non-morel mushrooms. That's pretty much it.

9. What is your favorite chip flavor? Conn's Regular.

10. What is your favorite CD at the moment? A dance mix I put together. And I can't stop humming "Rich Girl" by Gwen Stefani. (We have the same singing voice, ya know, only hers is in-tune!)

11. What kind of car do you drive? Toyota Celica.

12. Favorite sandwich? Avocado with Sprouts, Tomato and Onion on a nutty bread.

13. What characteristic do you despise? Bloodshed in the name of any religion. Jealousy. (Same-difference, only with pyrotechnics, scopes and range-weapons involved.)

14. Favorite item of clothing? Funky Monkey glow in the dark hooded sweatshirt, sports sandals.

15. If you could go anywhere in the world on vacation, where would you go? Around the world, baby.

16. What color is your bathroom? Kind of orange/coppery faux finish. It looks like Cheesecake Factory.

17. Favorite brand of clothing? I don't have one.

18. Where would you retire to? Somewhere in the mountains during the summer and beach in the winter.

19. Favorite time of the day? I like it all.

20. What was your most memorable birthday? Last year in Vegas because my pal Renee was soooo into it. I am not much of a birthday person. She thinks celebrating birthdays/holidays and anniversaries are the reason for living and works really hard to make it memorable. Such a mama!

21. Where were you born? OhiO, just north of the Appalachians.

22. Favorite sport to watch? Engh?live baseball and basketball are awesome. Broncos football is good on TV.

23. Who do you least expect to send this back to you? My sister Christi. She doesn't read email much. She's busy feeding critters and working waay too much.

-Charles Caleb Colton, author and clergyman (1780-1832)
